Get the experience of building an RC car from beginning to end at the 2023 MSM Summer Camp - Traxxas Slash!

This camp is designed for new/intermediate enthusiasts, those with a little RC/engineering know-how, or want to get into racing with the Spec Slash!

You'll learn how to build a short-course RC Traxxas Slash race truck from the ground up, put it together, and then race it in a fun and supportive environment. Join us as we go over the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, how you can use those fundamentals to engineer and troubleshoot your Scale Model car, and some tips and etiquette for driving.

With guidance from professionals in the hobby along with help from friends in attendance, you will leave MSM Summer Camp with a full understanding of how every system of a RC truck functions — as well as an idea of how to personalize and tweak your own vehicle. Once you complete the camp, you will have a race-ready Traxxas Slash short-course RC truck!

The camp with take place Monday - Friday from 6pm-9pm.

This camp was created to:

• Teach the fundamentals of building a hobby grade radio controlled car kit.
• Work with professionals in the hobby to build the components of rc cars including suspension, shocks, differentials, and more.
• Learn how and why certain components of the car function the way they do.
• Experience the relationships and camaraderie within the amazing RC community.

• On the last day of camp, we will race!
• Once you complete the camp, you will have a race ready slash with a full understanding of how to maintain your RC car!

FAQs

Where will the summer camp take place?

The summer camp will be held inside the Traxxas Retail store in McKinney located at 6250 Traxxas Way McKinney, TX 75070

Is this just for kids?

NOPE! The ratio is typically 50:50 kids to adults. 

Will Mark actually be at the camp?

Yes! Mark will be the main instructor with several pro drivers and rc experts to assist.

Do I get to take home my car?

Yes! You will get to keep everything that is included in the camp when the camp is complete.

Can I bring my own tools?

Yes! But if you don't have them, they are included.

Can I upgrade my car during the build?

Absolutely, One of the cool things about the camp being in the Traxxas store is all the cool Traxxas upgrades will be available for sale!

Does the camp provide dinner?

We do not plan on providing a full dinner during the camp however snacks and drinks will be provided.

I am traveling from out of town, what else is there to do in the area?

There are several tourist spots around Mckinney. Dallas is about 30 mins away and other neighboring cities include Frisco, The Colony, and Plano.
